Episode 5: We will briefly look at who the Bantu people are and how their migration that started over 5000 years ago, influenced language and culture throughout the continent and beyond. Last month I had the opportunity to sit in and listen to Professor Aristóteles Kandimba, an Angolan writer and researcher. He is the author of "The Book Of Names From Angola", this particular copy I have is a collection of 1,000 Angolan names of Bantu origins. This book reveals several meanings, symbolism and mythological references to the words, including some words that are relevant to the practice of Capoeira, which I decided to highlight on this episode.
Happy Sunday!
